The Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku celebrates its 10th anniversary on the 31st August 2017. Good Smile Company has made a huge selection of scale figures and Nendoroids based on the popular character, and we are now also bringing some special figures and projects to commemorate her 10th anniversary! We will also be running an illustration contest on pixiv!
Hatsune Miku celebrated her 10th anniversary on the 31st August 2017. In commemoration of the anniversary, Hatsune Miku's character designer KEI illustrated a brand new illustration of Miku featuring the outfit designed by manga artist Mari Shimazaki. This illustration has now been transformed into an intricate scale figure by sculptor Takayuki Kawahara, filled with 10 years of appreciation towards the virtual idol!
Her body shines with a rainbow glow, and the transparent areas of the design have all been captured on the figure, together with the meticulous detail of her twin-tails and the ribbons in her hair. The huge, iconic ribbon from the illustration has also been included on the figure, and even flows down to form the base of the figure as well.
In addition, this version will include a 390 page A4 size commemorative book called the "Hatsune Miku Archive", which will include the winners of the pixiv Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary illustration contest as well as other contents to look back on Miku's 10th anniversary. The original character designer of Hatsune Miku, KEI, has worked together with the designer and manga artist Mari Shimazaki to create a vivid illustration to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku, which has been faithfully shrunk down into Nendoroid size!
Her colorful body, the iconic ribbon on her back as well as the ribbons in her hair have all been included to capture the more characteristic details of the 10th anniversary version. She comes with two face plates including a lovely smile based on the original illustration, as well as a cute winking expression for all sorts of adorable poses. Be sure to add the commemorative Nendoroid to your collection - the perfect item to celebrate Hatsune Miku's 10th anniversary!
The colorful 10th anniversary illustration by KEI has some very specific details about it that have all been carefully captured in Nendoroid size! Take a closer look at the details below!
On the original illustration Miku features seven colorful ribbons on both the right and left! To match with the Nendoroid size, we have converted this to a total of seven colorful ribbons on both sides for a lovely colorful effect!
Just like on the illustration, the Nendoroid body has been painted with a rainbow gradient while the arm covers and boots have a silver graident. Her entire outfit features a metallic paint giving her a shining appearance!
The large rainbow-colored ribbon on her back has also been included on the Nendoroid! It makes use of translucent parts to create an light, floating appearance!
The 10th anniverary figures of Hatsune Miku will be on display at various events and stores. Be sure to take a look for yourself if you are in the area!
