From the popular game 'Fate/EXTRA CCC' comes a 1/7th scale
figure of Saber Bride - Saber wearing the 'Bridal Gown of Restraint'.
She is posed with Aestus Estus in hand, ready to confront her enemies
in battle while still showing off her curvaceous figure.
The sculpt is filled
with all sorts of highlights such as the resolute facial expression,
the skirt
fluttering in the wind around her and the tight wedding outfit that shows
off her beautiful curves.
The intricate details on the outfits accessories
and paintwork also all come together
to create a figure overflowing with
Saber's beauty for fans to enjoy in their collection.
The characters illustrated by Arco Wada have always caught my attention, and I mentioned that if a figure was ever to be made based on the illustrations then I would be happy to be a part of it. When it was decided that a figure of Saber Bride would be made I was constantly thinking about how I could recreate that style in figure form... when I started I was incredibly excited to get to work.
The main thing I focused on was keeping the cute appearance of Saber in tact while also preserving that noble, commanding atmosphere that surrounds her character. When I saw the pose that was to be used for the figure, the first thing that came to mind was 'the quiet before battle', and so I tried to add that feeling into the sculpt and pose.
I think the most notable highlight even when I was working on the figure was definitely her outfit - for a number of reasons. The appearance of the wind blowing the outfit to the side gives such a dynamic feeling to the figure that really makes it stand out and really sets the scene for the figure. On top of that, the intricate details such as the the patterns of the outfit which make use of concave molds, or the embroidery on the veil... not to mention the burned appearance of the edges of the skirt.
On top of that everything is carefully made to match up with the flow of the skirt so effectively - the balance was quite hard to work out and I had to move around which parts to work on when quite a lot... but I think in the end the hard work paid off! In contrast to that freely flowing part of the outfit we also have the areas that better suit the name of the 'Bridal Gown of Restraint' - the tight fit of the outfit together with the various belts and zips bring out that side of the figure rather nicely.
On her back there is also a rare little glimpse of her bare skin just above the bottom! I think that area of bare skin curving to the creases of her outfit around the hips are my favorite parts on the figure! I hope that this Saber Bride will become a figure that people will remember and enjoy for many years to come!
