From the heartful comedy story "NEKOPARA" comes scale figures of the youngest twin sisters of the Minaduki catgirls, Chocola and Vanilla, in adorable Chinese dresses. The figures have been created based on a special illustration by NEKOPARA illustrator Sayori. Their gorgeous outfits and long flowing hair have all been faithfully recreated to match the original illustration as much as possible. The folding screens behind the figures can be removed and displayed independently with the use of attachment parts included with the figures. Comment from Sayori What are your thoughts on the finished figures? When I first saw them I thought, "They look just like the illustration!" I had the privilege of designing the folding screens as well, but I was so surprised to see that you can move them around! It'll be great for taking all kinds of different pictures. I just can't wait to have them! What was the main focus when supervising the production process? A big focus was on creating great figures for the price point. The new POP UP PARADE series has been very well received, so I wanted to make sure that the increase in detail and quality matches the increase in price comparatively. For that reason, I made sure to meticulously check the figures throughout the process, providing feedback on even little things like the length and width of individual fingers, and the flow of each and every wrinkle in their outfits. Thank you so much to the sculptors for your hard work! Tell us about the clothing designs. The original illustrations were actually created for the purpose of merchandise rather than figures. I received this kind of "gorgeous Chinese outfit" theme, so I toned down the amount of bare skin showing when designing the outfits, but being a request from Good Smile Company, I focused on creating a pose and details that could easily be brought into figure form, with an outfit design that really makes you want to see more. After hearing that they wanted to create figures based on the illustrations, I designed the backs of the outfits as well. Since you can't see their legs from the back, I decided to incorporate a revealing back design. Each figure can be enjoyed from any angle, so have fun finding your favorite angle when you take them home! Sculptor (Chocola): Itashi Katahara I focused on recreating the illustration as accurately as possible, making sure to maintain the fine details and artistic touches. In particular, I tried to sculpt the face so as to look great from many different angles, so please take a look from all sides when you take her home. After creating the 3D data, I adjusted the slit of her dress on her right hip by hand several times. That gap in the dress makes you want to see more, so it's one of my personal highlights of the figure. Production Director: Keroriso When I first saw the illustration, I knew they both would look great as figures. I knew there was a lot of details that could really be shown off well in figure form, from the flow of their bodies and hair to the decorations of their outfits. On the other hand, if we couldn't get those details right, it would spoil the charm of the original illustration, so I felt I really had to try my hardest. One of the many things I focused on when directing the production of Chocola was making her standing pose as beautiful as possible. When looking at the original illustration, there doesn't appear to be much movement, but I felt sculpting the dynamic S-shaped flow of her torso was a very important part of bringing the charm of the illustration to figure form.Additionally, it's important to create a sense of depth when transforming illustrations into figures. The main angle of the figure should match the illustration as much as possible, but it's important for the figure to appear beautiful from other angles as well. After the prototype for Chocola was completed, there was all kinds of feedback from me, from the original creator Sayori and from Good Smile Company's president Aki-san as well. The sculptor Itashi Katahara had the skills and spirit to build upon that feedback and create a wonderful prototype. Detailed product specifications listed here.
