RACE
CrowdStrike 24 Hours Of Spa
DATES
25 June 2025 - 29 June 2025
LOCATION
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium)
The Spa 24 Hours Race is an endurance race held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Since its first edition in 1924, it has been held annually and celebrates its 101st running this year.
Alongside the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France and the 24 Hours of Daytona in the United States, it is considered one of the "Three Great Endurance Races of the World", boasting a prestigious status befitting one of the pinnacles of motorsports.
Currently, the race is part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, featuring GT3-spec cars, attracting top teams from around the world.
GOODSMILE RACING previously competed in 2017 and 2019 but unfortunately retired in both attempts before reaching the halfway mark. This year, the team aims to achieve their long-cherished goal of completing the full 24 hours and securing a top finish with their third attempt!
RACE
SUZUKA1000km
DATES
12 September 2025 - 14 September 2025
LOCATION
Suzuka Circuit (Mie Prefecture)
The Suzuka 1000km was Japan’s premier endurance race, held at Suzuka Circuit from 1966 to 2017. In 2018 and 2019, it continued as the Suzuka 10 Hours Endurance Race but was discontinued thereafter. Now, in 2025, it is set to return as part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, organized by SRO.
At the renowned Suzuka Circuit, known as one of the most technical tracks in the world, top GT3 series champions and powerhouse teams from around the globe will battle it out under extreme summer heat.
GOODSMILE RACING will enter the race with the same driver lineup as the Spa 24 Hours in June: Nobuteru Taniguchi, Tatsuya Kataoka, and Kamui Kobayashi. Competing at their home track, Suzuka Circuit, they will take on the world’s top rivals—so stay tuned for an intense showdown!

Takanori Aki Entrant Representative
Our challenge in the Spa 24 Hours was all about seeing how well our team could compete on the world stage. In the past two attempts, we were only able to run for about 10 hours, meaning we not only lost the race but also couldn’t showcase our true potential—it was incredibly frustrating.
This time, I really want us to see the checkered flag and share with all our supporters exactly where we stand in the rankings. With a special lineup of Taniguchi, Kataoka, and Kamui, along with Ukyo’s leadership, this is going to be an amazing challenge. I’m beyond excited! I hope you’ll enjoy it with us.
We’ll also be entering the Suzuka 1000km with the same package. Since it’s another world-class race held in our home country, Japan, we want to make a lasting impression.
This year’s GSR is packed with excitement— thank you for your support!

Ukyo Katayama Team Manager
I’d love to say that I’m going for the podium! But this race is anything but ordinary. The difficulty of the course is one thing, but the weather changes constantly, and our rivals are incredibly competitive. Having competed twice before, I’ve experienced a lot, and I have no doubt that this will be another tough race. So, rather than aiming for a top position right away, my honest goal is to run a steady race and make sure we see the checkered flag this time. Drivers tend to get fired up as soon as they start racing, so as a team director, I see my role as keeping them from getting too heated.
As for the Suzuka 1000km in September, it’s our home track, and the experience from the Spa 24 Hours in June will be invaluable. For that race, I want to be aggressive and push hard. In 2018, we finished 5th overall, and in 2019, we finished 10th. This time, I’m aiming not only for a podium finish but for an overall victory.

Nobuteru Taniguchi
It's been a long time since our last challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but I’m really excited to be taking on the Spa 24 Hours again for the first time in six years since 2019.
For us at GOODSMILE RACING, there’s something we left behind at Spa. In our past two attempts, we were nowhere near the battle for position and couldn’t even finish the race—both were crushing defeats. This time, on our third attempt, we’re determined to finally achieve a solid result!
That said, while I’m fired up about this challenge, I’m also getting older, so I’d like to leave the hard work to the younger guys!
Among the many 24-hour endurance races in the world, such as Le Mans and Daytona, the Spa 24 Hours is unique in that it’s exclusively for GT3 cars, making it the ultimate showdown for the best in GT3 racing. Competing in this race is always a thrilling experience that keeps my motivation high even after returning to Japan.
Back in 2018 and 2019, we competed in the Suzuka 10 Hours with the same setup, but this will be the first time GOODSMILE RACING enters a 1000km race outside of the SUPER GT series. The old Suzuka 1000km was a race I competed in with GT500 machines, so it holds a lot of personal significance for me. While this race will be another GT3 championship event like Spa, the big difference is that Suzuka is our home track. That means we’ll be aiming not just for a strong finish but for the top spot—ideally, victory!
That being said… since I’m getting older, I’ll be counting on the younger guys to push through the grueling summer race!

Tatsuya Kataoka
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to take on the Spa 24 Hours once again. My past two attempts have been nothing but painful experiences on a personal level. At one point, I thought I might never get another chance to race at Spa, so this time, on my third attempt, I’m determined to see the checkered flag after 24 hours.
With the revival of the Suzuka 1000km, we’ll be competing in that race with the same setup as Spa. Looking back, we also took on the Suzuka 10 Hours with the same team structure and put in a solid performance, though we definitely felt the gap between us and the overseas teams. At Spa, our primary goal is to finish the race. But at Suzuka, which is our home track, we’re aiming for nothing less than victory!

I’m honored to once again compete as the third driver for GOODSMILE RACING in both the Spa 24 Hours and the Suzuka 1000km. I’d like to express my gratitude to Representative Aki and everyone at GOODSMILE RACING for giving me this opportunity.
This year, I’ll make sure to properly load my cool suit so I don’t get scolded by Taniguchi-san!
Both Spa and Suzuka are tracks I really love, and since it’s been a while since my last Spa 24 Hours, I’m especially looking forward to it. I have a strong desire to win in both races, so I’ll be working together with Taniguchi-san and Kataoka-san to put on a great performance. Thank you all for your support!
